Vehicles
How to add, edit and manage your vehicles in Magica.
Adding a vehicle
To add a new vehicle:
- The first time you open the app, you will be automatically asked to add a vehicle
- If you already have a vehicle, you can add a new one
- Tap the garage icon to the right of the vehicle photo on the dashboard
- Tap the "+" button in the top right to add a new one
- Enter make, model and year
- Or search in the Magica database, or even better use AI to retrieve all the data
- Set the current odometer reading
- Save
Switching active vehicle
If you have multiple vehicles, you can switch between them from the Dashboard by tapping the garage icon to the right of the vehicle photo to choose the vehicle to use. Remember to do this when you are not recording a trip.
Automatic vehicle switch (Bluetooth)
If you own multiple vehicles, Magica can automatically recognize which one you're using via Bluetooth:
- Go to Account > App settings and tracking > Trip tracking > Advanced Configuration
- Enable "Auto-Switch" for each vehicle
- Associate a Bluetooth device (car audio or BLE tag) with each vehicle
- When Magica detects a vehicle's Bluetooth device, it automatically switches to that vehicle
The switch happens automatically when you start a trip — Magica recognizes the trip and the vehicle in use. Remember that this feature is in BETA and may have issues. If you encounter any problems, contact support.
Editing a vehicle
From the vehicle detail, tap the "..." icon in the top right and choose "Edit".
Updating the odometer
There are several ways to update the odometer:
- Manually — From the vehicle detail, tap the odometer value and enter the new one
- Manually — From the odometer history. From the vehicle detail, scroll down to Odometer History, tap the "+" button in the top right.
- During a refueling — When you add a refueling, the odometer is automatically updated with the value entered
- After a trip — At the end of each tracked trip, the odometer is updated with the distance traveled
